The A2 Fully Automatic Sub-Chassis Turntable continues the success of Pro-Ject's fully mechanical automatic turntables. This model introduces new features that enhance the listening experience. Users can now select the drop-off point for 7" singles or 12" LPs playing at 45 RPM. Additionally, 78 RPM has been added, allowing users to explore old shellac record collections.

To enjoy the A2, simply press start, and the tonearm automatically moves to the lead-in groove of the record. Once playing, the automatic mechanisms are completely disengaged, ensuring they do not influence or degrade sound quality during playback. At the end of the record, the tonearm is automatically returned and gently lowered into its resting position, and the motor is shut off.

Pro-Ject has invested in a new aluminum diecast top for the sub-chassis and automatic mechanism, the first improvement to the original automatic design in its 50-year history. This, combined with the massive chassis, results in a more effective sub-chassis construction that isolates unwanted resonance much better.

The A2 employs a sub-chassis design, where the tonearm, platter bearing, and motor are mounted onto a separate floating sub-chassis. This further isolates the critical turntable elements and adds an extra layer of protection against outside noise, resonances, and interference, especially when the loudspeakers are positioned close to the turntable.

The precision mechanics include automated start and stop functions, a massless tracking force adjustment, and an ultra-low-friction 4-point cardanic aluminum tonearm bearing, as well as a damped counterweight to eliminate resonance.
